The Connection!!!

During my childhood ,in my summer holidays,I was fortunate enough to travel to many famous temples in South India. This experience had a huge impact on me and my personality and my way of seeing life..

One such trip that was always close to my heart and which had a turning point in my life is this:

In those days, the whole idea of going to a trip with my cousins and the whole family was so much of fun and excitement! I never used to sleep the night before..waiting for the day to come..The first one to wake up,first one to get ready and first one to wait for the bus to arrive.

Running around doing little errands, carrying the pillows, water bottles and backpacks and reserving the seats for the elders.help everyone who needs help and smile to myself when the bus for the trip arrives.Settle down in the seat comfortably with my own imaginations of the places I'll be visiting..

My favourite seat was always in the front where Teju and I would sit,so we can chat with the driver and ask him which all places we'll be seeing on our way  and how long it'll take to reach destination and little details like that!

One such experience was to travel to Guruvayur in Kerala. The god that abodes there is none other than GURUVAYURAPPA or the King of Charm or in simple words the God I fell in love with...LORD KRISHNA!

The effect of the place or the effect of Lord Krishna was magical and mesmerizing.!! I was in no state to realise whose effect I was having ....

It was in the wee hours of the day, where we were supposed to wake up really early and go to the temple and get ready to get the glimpse of the famous lord.

We walk up near the entrance of the temple where you get the divine smell of the flowers that have decked up the temple. The Kerala women in their mundus around the temple and lighting the diyas that surround the outer walls of the temple!

The view itself was mind blowing and serene in its own way.So we queued up,waited for our chance to take a glimpse of the idol.We were lost in our own thoughts seeing this ancient temple and which was beautiful in its own way!

Little curious and not that interested in particular, was waiting in my line to see the god and  then was making a mental note to myself to spend more time seeing the temple elephants and then a hearty breakfast :)

Lo! Behold! I saw the Lord Krishna's or the Guruvayurappa' s idol and I was speechless. The statue was totally different from the usual image I had of Lord Krishna's...It was breath taking!! I was dazed...I was amazed...I was lost seeing that beautiful idol and went into a trance...I felt the sudden urge of happiness inside me..And I realised at that moment..he was the one I can never take my eyes off.. I was dancing inside my heart just by seeing him!

And yessss..I have fallen in love for the first time!!! I have fallen in love with Lord Krishna...I have fallen gracefully for the Lord of Charm..The Lord of Love... The Lord of beautiful lotus eyes..

Till today...the experience is so close to my heart..and still today..I know heis the one I'll go back to., with whom I'll speak from my heart and revere..

The connection to lord Krisha is still strong..and in the journey of the life he was always there giving me the unconditional support and trust!!! :)

  4. The only true love is the love for one's own Lord or the Master. Every other love we see around is a mere attraction to the material world which is always decaying. May Lord Guruvayurappa bless you to keep only Him in your heart always and nothing else!

PS: It is disappointing that you didn't turn up for my wedding which was held at Guruvayur.
